Hydra

HYDRA is a modular active multichannel high resolution imaging radar with Inverse Synthetic Aperture radar (ISAR) capability for real-time moving object detection and tracking (MTI and MTT). The multichannel architecture enables array processing for target localization, e.g. with monopulse or digital beamforming, or advanced geometric feature extraction, e.g. 3D Interferometric ISAR for three-dimensional target reconstruction.

Main applications

HYDRA has been designed and developed with a modular architecture to meet all specific customer needs. It can be equipped with multiple transmitting and receiving channels to enable many applications. HYDRA has been employed for maritime traffic surveillance, harbor monitoring, airport surface movement surveillance, low flying aircraft surveillance, drone detection and vehicular traffic monitoring.

Best user experience

HYDRA is designed for the highest user experience. Its strength is the modular architecture and real-time on-board radar processing capability. It can operate 24/7 in “all-weather” conditions, also in extreme and harsh environments. The real added value consists of the capability to upload many software toolboxes to allow different radar processing algorithms to be used.

Why choose HYDRA?

HYDRA is fully designed and produced by ECHOES with the highest focus to the end user needs, with highly competitive costs and a full customized software to process radar data. HYDRA can be considered as a fully equipped prototype to be tailored to the customer requirements.

HYDRA is provided with a dedicated graphic user interface that allows for the full remote system monitor and control from your host PC wherever is running (in your office or control room). A software toolbox running on-board or offline is devoted to the processing of raw data acquired by HYDRA.

HYDRA is based on a direct deramping Linear Frequency Modulated Continuous Waveform radar architecture and it is available both in single polarization (H or V) and fully polarimetric version. The antenna system consists of external multiple transmitting and receiving elements linked through low-loss coaxial cables. This configuration allows different applications to be used. The embedded cooling system ensures a proper thermal dissipation guaranteeing the IP65 enclosure protection. PHOENIX is available both in X, Ku and K bands.
